I agree with the coach, but unfortunately, I'm one of those parents who screams from the bleachers. I just had a talk with my son's head football coach today about my behavior. I completely understand and appreciate every one of the coaches and staff members involved in making things happen. I acknowledge that most of them are not making any money and are offering their time to help. However, I practice with my boys 4-5 times a week in the summer, sometimes even doing two-a-day practices. I practice in the morning and then take them to school in the afternoon. It's difficult for a parent who genuinely wants to see their kids learn and improve effectively when you notice your kids repeatedly making mistakes that are not being corrected. I refrain from saying anything to the coach because I understand that it can be challenging to keep track of everything happening at once and mistakes can be missed. I wonder why a parent can't signal in a correction without causing a problem. I am letting the coach coach; I'm not trying to be rude, I simply want my son to be coached correctly. Some may suggest that I become the coach myself, but I've been informed that the school does not allow parents to coach their own kids. So, what do I do? Move schools? Stop them from playing altogether? Or should I just sit back and watch my sons lose time because I have to conform to whatever coaching is being offered at the moment? Tomorrow is not promised, and I've experienced the loss of loved ones unexpectedly due to not paying attention to details. I am aware that there are many parents who do not dedicate the time and effort that I do but show up to Saturday morning games pretending like they have been putting in the work. That behavior is not correct. Unfortunately I only see me stoping when I get my son a coach that can teach my son in the level I know he needs and deserves. Till then. Owell I am not stopping from doing anything on my power to put my kids in the best situation posible.
